Dear friends, this is a short update on where we are at with out initiatives to fight animal cruelty in Bulgaria – a place where cruel traditions are deeply ingrained and meat consumption is on the rise. If it’s the first time you are landing on this site, you might want to check out our Home Page and Frequently Asked Questions on why care to support us at all.

Good news is we have a new member volunteering on our team, Jordan, who is an extremely competent and driven individual, committed to our cause. You can read more about him and all of us in our ‘Team Members’ section on our Home Page. He has just returned from Australia, driven by the mission to make a positive change in his home country, Bulgaria. So, we can say that another soulmate has joined us!

Jordan is a financial consultant with a wide international background and extensive experience in the restaurant  industry in Australia. He is a passionate animal advocate, whose determination to help people re-consider their eating and lifestyle habits shines through his yoga and meditation classes, as well as a huge number of other initiatives he has taken on. Jordan has decided to leave a well-paid job in Australia and come back to his country in order to give something back after travelling throughout Asia and spending time in a Tibetan monastery.

We have put a lot of thought how to approach our initiatives in these very few months of us working as a team.

This is what we decided on as a first event that will make a memorable impact on attendees.

Event Name: Delicious Movie Night (We will be screening What The Health And giving out Free Vegan Food and Leaflets)

Capacity: 40-50 people

We will encourage people to come to our free event, where we will offer them free and delicious vegan food (savory and sweet treats adapted to local tastes) while watching the movie What The Health in Bulgarian.

We will start off with a small introduction of ourselves, explaining why we wish to share this important information with them.

The event will then end with a short discussion and personal life examples on how our own lives and health have changed on a vegan diet.

We will then give out a small leaflet which will contain basic nutritional information about protein (this is what most people here are very concerned about), plus an easy recipe they can try at home.

The goal is to make a connection with these people and win their trust for future events, where we can go deeper into the topics. Word of mouth is extremely powerful in our community, and we hope it will get us more volunteers.

For this first event we have calculated we will need about $800 for renting a conference room for about 3 hours, free vegan food for 40-50 people, designing and printing leaflets, paying a cameraman to shoot and edit videos, so that we can show the work we are doing for the animals, as well as funds for promoting the event locally and attracting a relevant non-vegan crowd.

No matter how small, your donation will make a difference! Any outstanding funds will make sure we can immediately plan our next initiative! We are aiming to make at least one per month, until we have enough funding to leverage and plan more than that.

The event is planned for the 21st of March and is in the very strategic pre-Easter period, when millions of innocent lambs are being slaughtered in the most barbaric way.

This initiative is just the beginning, and we are already getting in touch with doctors and professionals as speakers for our next events!

Unfortunately, our personal finances will not be enough to support all the initiatives we wish to launch in order to make a profound, long-term change for the better, and we humbly ask you to consider making a monthly commitment as well as sharing our cause with your friends, FB groups, LinkedIn connections, and networks.

Again, we thank you sincerely for all your trust and support!

Sincerest regards,

Ashton, Denitsa, and Jordan
